A working class dining hall opened in 1896 and still serving French bistro staples, onion soup, steak frites, roast chicken, at prices that have barely moved with the times, brass luggage racks and mirrored walls unchanged since the belle epoque. It does not take reservations and shares tables when it is full, which is most of the day, so the wait is part of the experience. Portions and prices both stay honest, this is neighborhood food dressed in a grand room rather than the other way around.
