Six 17th and 18th century canal houses joined into one hotel on the Herengracht, with a private garden courtyard that is easy to forget sits directly behind one of Amsterdam's busiest canals. The original architectural details, painted ceilings, marble fireplaces, ornate stairwells, are kept largely intact rather than renovated flat.
