A cluster of working 18th and 19th century windmills, relocated here and kept genuinely operational, grinding spices, sawing timber and pressing oil the same way they always have, twenty minutes outside Amsterdam by train. The cheese farm and clog workshop next door round out a half day that plays a little like an open air museum without feeling staged. Go on a windy day if you can pick one, the sails only turn with enough breeze behind them.
