The billboards run floor to ceiling on every building in a stretch that never actually goes dark, and it is worth seeing once after dark even if the daytime crowds are not your scene. Broadway's theater district sits just off the square itself, so a walk through here doubles easily as the start of a show night. Come hungry, the streets just west toward Ninth Avenue have far better food than anything directly on the square.
