About

Caya G.F. Betico Croes runs the length of downtown lined in Dutch colonial facades painted the pink, blue and yellow the island is known for, with Fort Zoutman, the oldest building on Aruba, anchoring the quieter end near the harbor. Cruise ship days flood the street with shoppers by mid-morning, an early walk before the first ship docks has the pastel storefronts nearly to yourself. The National Archaeological Museum next to the fort is worth the detour and costs nothing to enter.
