About

The 86th floor open air deck is the one every postcard uses, 320 metres up with a clear run of Manhattan in every direction, and the 102nd floor above it is glassed in and worth the upgrade on a windy day. Sunset tickets sell in a specific time slot and sell out first, the building stays lit long after and the skyline below turns into a grid of light. It has been open continuously since 1931, one of the few New York icons old enough that your grandparents could have taken the same elevator.
