The reef off Cozumel is part of the second largest barrier reef system in the world, and the visibility regularly runs past thirty metres, drift snorkeling over coral walls thick with parrotfish and the occasional turtle. A short ferry across from Playa del Carmen makes it an easy add on to a Tulum stay despite being on a different island entirely.
